We do not camouflage a symptom with drugs hoping that it will go away; rather we strive to get to the core of the problem. Abdominal disorders can be dangerous; camouflaging them with pain killers or other drugs, over the longer term can lead to serious consequences. We cite an example for illustration as to what is meant by the core of the problem.

“There were two men who each had a wooden pail of water to drink that would hang from one of the branches of a tree in their yards. One day, both discovered that there was a leak in the pail.

The first man added water to the pail so that it would stay full. After a few days, he got tired and began to mend the leak. But it continued to leak and again, the first man mended the leak.

The second man who discovered the leak began searching to find out the reason for the leak. He found that there was a woodpecker that lived in a hole in the tree was responsible for the hole in his pail. He fixed the hole in the tree, hung the pail on his fence instead and there was never a leak again.”

Similarly, we look upon cancer and other diseases as a “process” within the body and not just a tumour!. In conventional medicine, all emphasis is focussed on attacking a tumour!. Therefore, if a tumour is reduced only by 10% as a result of chemotherapy, the treatment is considered a failure. Doctors would continue to attack the tumour killing the tumour and the patient at the same time!. In our approach, we would be happy if a cancer patient remains healthy and the tumour is reduced by a mere ten per cent. We aim at improving the general physical condition of the whole body and as long as the tumour does not pose a problem, we would prefer to leave it alone!.

It takes many years for a tumour to grow; by the time it is discovered, it has, in all probability been in existence for five or more years inside the body. As soon as it is found, conventional medicine would attack it with chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. How many cancer patients that we know had survived more than 3 years from the date of conventional treatment? When left alone, there have been times when a patient had enjoyed a much better quality of life and had survived longer! The reader must not construe this statement as the universal rule. We are not opposed to chemotherapy and radiation but we are concerned with “over-kill” approach that also kills the person.

Similarly in cases of patients with gall stones, we would not encourage the surgical removal of the gallbladder. The gall bladder serves an important function and its removal does not in itself solves the problem. This is what we meant by camouflaging the symptom!

If you have patience and allow yourself a period of time for the body to heal, most cases can be helped. Confidence, patience, a positive mental attitude and an open mind will help in the healing process!
